Darren Nicholson - Driver & Team Owner

Lives: Lake Macquarie, NSW, Australia
Racing Background:
As a former World and National Sailing Champion, Darren made the switch to Powerboat Racing in 2013. In a relatively short time, Darren has won multiple National Championships, a World Championship and has been runner up on 2 occasions in the Class 1 World Championship. The Australian native has a full calendar of racing as he pilots the Class 1 boat, the XCAT boat and the Australian Superboat.
Giovanni Carpitella - Throttleman
Nationality: Italian
Lives: Milan, Italy
Racing Background:
A seasoned racer, Giovanni has been racing Powerboats since 1993. In his career he has won multiple European Championships and holds multiple speed records. As a long time Class 1 competitor, Giovanni has had multiple podium finishes. The Italian pulls double duties and races in both the Class 1 World Championships and the XCAT World Championships.
Peter McGrath - Throttleman, Driver, Crew Chief

Racing Background:
Commonly known as Muddy amongst his friends and within the racing fraternity, Pete has been in the Offshore Racing scene for decades. With multiple NZ, Australian and World titles to his name, Muddy’s talents aren’t limited to inside the cockpit. His knowledge and understanding of high performance engines is integral to the teams success.
Skye Gregory - Manager & Marketing
Lives: Mackay, QLD, Australia
Background:
Skye has worked in the sporting industry for 20 years and is experienced in all facets of the media and marketing industry. Having worked for IMG Media in their London office, Skye has worked on major sporting events such as Wimbledon and the America’s Cup and she brings a wealth of knowledge to the 222 Offshore racing team.
Mark Tolcher - Mechanic

Background:
Mark has worked on boats and specifically Powerboats for most of his life. Having worked in Class 1 in Europe and the Middle East, Mark is well equipped around performance engines and his meticulous work ethic is an asset to the 222 Offshore team.
Sue Jeffrey - Administration

Background:
Sue has been with 222 Offshore since its inception and is a valuable member of the administration team. Working behind the scenes and a frequent face at the Australian races, Sue’s professional nature is an asset to the team.
Peter Jacobs - Transport Logistics

Background:
Based in the US, Pete came onboard with 222 Offshore in 2022 and has quickly become a valuable member of the team. As a seasoned truck driver, Pete works with Powerboats and Race Cars and transports high value assets all over the US.
John Barbagallo - Engine Builder

Background:
John Barbagallo is a well known name amongst the racing / engine building industry and his work is second to none. As the engine builder for the teams Australian racing engines, John is an integral part of the 222 Offshore team and their continuous effort to improve and develop reliable and competitive Offshore Racing engines.
Mauro Marchi - Mechanic

Background:
Mauro works with 222 Offshore on the XCAT World Championships in Europe and the Middle East. Mauro is a talented graphic artist and is also a seasoned professional in all aspects of the marine industry.
Nick Barsch - Mechanic

Nick has worked in the marine industry for years and is a seasoned professional. As a valuable member of the XCAT World Championship team, Nick provides valuable mechanical support to the team.
